Runway Events
MakeFashion was founded with the vision of awe-inspiring fashiontech on the runway, and this still anchors our mission. Our expertise is on producing large-scale runway events, however we are adept at creating magic at any scale.
Our annual event in Calgary, Canada showcases our new work, which we then tour around the world. We are available to produce events showcasing our own collections, or collaborations with other brands and designers.
Keynotes and Presentations
The MakeFashion team has been working at the intersection of fashion and technology for 7+ years. Our team has a diverse background and are tenured as speakers, presenters, and workshop facilitators.
Our team members are available to present on a variety of topics including the future of fashion, maker culture, STEM education, tech diversity, startup culture, and future product design disciplines (voice, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and AR/VR). Educational Lectures
We are available to speak at colleges universities, and K-12 schools with inspirational, informative content.
Workshop Facilitation
Our experience coaching professional designers and makers to produce runway-ready creations, as well as students in our new MakeFashion Edu program gives us experience and expertise in facilitating hands-on workshops for all skill levels.

Sidney York and 3 designers of MakeFashion are showcasing in New York for FashionWare show on June 24th 2015 as part of CE Week, NY’s largest technology show.
Maker Faire Shenzhen
June 19-21 2015
Designers are each charged with designing and fabricating a one of a kind wearable technology piece in less than two weeks. These remarkable achievements will be showcased during a one-day fashion show at Maker Faire Shenzhen, on June 20th. To help them rise to their challenge, MakeFashion has launched an Indiegogo campaign.
No need to know anything about sewing or technology, come and learn how to create fancy wearable technology outfits. Workshops fee 10$-50$.
Maker Faire Bay Area
May 16-17 2015
MakeFashion will showcase two fashion shows per day at the Maker Faire in the Bay Area. Featured on the catwalk will be the amazing garments from Obscure Shadow, Positive Feedback, Tech Tie, Virtually Vogue, Phi:Illuminated Designs, Proxima, Eunoia, Synapse, Reflections, Eos & Nyx, Modern Constellation and The ALLELES Studio Design.
